The following detailed information was prepared by Sean Costello. His keen understanding of information management clarifies the many options residents to reach emergency services in our community.

A. Speed-dial #5 (also known as the “Panic Button”) to bring police to your home address in Puerto Cayo ONLY

  1. Using this service will dispatch a Puerto Cayo Police officer to your home address. If you can, stay on the line and talk to the officer, it is preferred, but not required. You will need to speak Spanish to the officer.
  2. Our local UPC office will help you register and program your phone at the UPC station.  To register your phone, you will need to provide the police with your information (Phone number, Name, Cedula, Home address). You will also need to sign the form. The officer will store the national dispatch phone number (02 381 0064) into your phone. The national dispatch system works by matching the calling phone number with the registered information. If a match is made the closest officer will be dispatched to your home address.
  3. False dispatch calls can carry a penalty, the first is forgiven, the second can cause you to not be able to use the service for 3 months, and the third can cause you to not be able to use the service for 1 year.
